When the ATO kicked off their Reinventing the ATO Program in mid 2013, there was scope for a more effective and efficient way for software companies to interact with the ATO. The Australian Business Software Industry Association (ABSIA) was established during this time to serve this purpose and to collectively represent our local software industry.
ABSIA was officially incorporated as a not for profit company with fve seed funding members in April 2014. When ABSIA began, a General Manager was seconded from the ATO and a further six ATO Secondees joined ABSIA for six month terms. All ATO secondees returned to the ATO in January 2017.

Past ABSIA Directors
ABSIA wishes to recognise all ABSIA Directors, past and present, for their contributions to the Board and the greater software industry. Below is a list of each year's Board of Directors since 2014.
