In this session, John plans to discuss what the ABS have done with this data collection so far, how they plan to share it with the industry and future possibilities and insights they are looking toward.

John Shepherd is General Manager leading the Industry Statistics Division at the Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS). In that role, John has responsibility for most of the business statistics produced by the ABS and is focused on ways to make this information timelier and more relevant while reducing the burden of business surveys. John is committed to working with Digital Service Providers and business advisers on the best way to do this. John previously held a number of senior roles at the ATO where he led significant digital transformation programs including Single Touch Payroll (STP).
