ABSIA hosted our 2019 Annual Conference titled Digital Business, Digital Economy on 24 October at the Swissôtel in Sydney. This year we focused heavily on data, and its role within our increasingly digital economy, with each session of the day touching on this topic.

We hosted various government and industry speakers who provided updates on initiatives within the industry while also exploring future avenues of opportunity in the software industry.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Examining data opportunities with Phillip Gould (ONDC), John Dardo (ATO), Marek Rucinski (ATO) and Angela Donohoe (BPAY);
  • Hearing from our industry and government panel about the new Security Standard for Add-On Marketplaces;
  • Video from Peppol's André Hoddevik introducing us to first of three e-invoicing sessions;
  • Update from the ATO about the recent passing of the e-invoicing legislation; and
  • Learning more about how both state and federal governments are looking to create demand for Peppol e-invoicing across the Tasman.

Overall, we have received positive feedback about the conference, and we look forward to bringing more ABSIA events to our Members and the industry in the coming year.

The ABSIA Board and staff wish to extend our thanks to our speakers, sponsors and guests for coming together and making this conference another successful event for ABSIA. We appreciate your continued support.
